Tetra Pak® Introduces the First Carton-Packaged Bottled Water to the Greek Market

MINOA becomes the first bottled water in Greece to be launched in the recyclable Tetra Pak paper-based packaging.

Tetra Pak, the world’s leading food processing and packaging solutions company, introduces to the Greek market for the first time the Tetra Prisma® Aseptic carton for water—a recyclable package that protects the product from sunlight and air, offering a sustainable alternative with reduced environmental impact.

The Tetra Pak carton is primarily made from paper sourced from responsibly managed forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, and other controlled sources where new trees are planted to replace those harvested. As these trees grow, they absorb carbon dioxide, helping to mitigate climate change.

In addition, the 750ml Tetra Pak carton is designed for on-the-go use, featuring a screw cap that opens and closes, offering consumers both functionality and convenience.

Vasilis Tsanos, Key Account Director at Tetra Pak, stated:

“At Tetra Pak, we innovate with sustainability at the heart of everything we do, guided by our mission to protect what’s good. The launch of the first paper-based water carton in the Greek market reflects our commitment to providing low-impact, practical, and safe packaging solutions that meet modern environmental and consumer demands. Carton packaging is the future of the bottled water industry.”

Manolis Tsaldaris, President of Waterfresh S.A., the company behind MINOA Water, commented:

“We are especially proud to be the first to introduce the Tetra Prisma® Aseptic carton by Tetra Pak for our new MINOA water. This innovative solution provides maximum product protection and consumer convenience, while keeping the environmental impact to a minimum. Our goal is to constantly evolve our products, and we believe this packaging is a game-changer in the bottled water market.”

The Tetra Pak carton for water is a new sustainable packaging solution that combines safety and practicality with a modern, innovative look, allowing water bottling companies to stand out and redefine their product positioning.
